Sidonie Hadoux was born in 1990 in Boulogne-sur-mer (Pas-de-calais, France). When she was 18, she left her hometown to Lille where she studied International and European Laws at the University of Lille 2. In september 2012, she moved to Istanbul for one year of exchange with the University of Galatasaray. There, she realized that she didn't want to become a lawer. With her first reflex
camera, she started to photograph the street life of Istanbul. In november 2012, she realized her first
report in Syria. In the region of Ildeb and in the Turkish city of Reyhanli, where injured Syrian fighters of the Free Army was treated. In june 2013, she documented the Gezi Park revolt in Istanbul. At that time, she knew that she wanted to be a freelancer journalist.
In september 2013, she entered to Sciences Po Grenoble to attend the Master class of Journalism. After several internships (Lepetitjournal.com d'Istanbul ; L'Orient-le-Jour ; National Geographic) she graduated in november 2016. Then she decided to hit the road again. She moved to Johannesburg to reconnect with photography : she attended an intermediate photograhy class at the Market Photo Workshop in Johannesburg, the prestigious photography school funded by the South-African photographer, David Goldblatt. The report « Water for Basothos » represents her final and personal project.
